Go Green this Summer with Celmec’s Evaporative Cooling Systems

In Australia, air-conditioning isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. People have high expectations of comfort in all environments such as shopping centres, libraries, cafés, schools, offices, and any other places they frequent – particularly during Australia’s sometimes sweltering summertime conditions.

At Celmec, we’re committed to carefully controlling temperatures across a range of settings. Our Evaporative Coolers, HCV and Celmist Mist Cooling systems offer effective and sustainable cooling solutions. Though each product has its own unique function, they all operate in a similar way: by releasing moisture into the air. Once the moisture makes contact with the air, it evaporates, extracts heat, and reduces ambient temperatures.

Our evaporative cooling systems utilise minimum energy to cool both indoor and outdoor environments.

“The effect is not dissimilar to being in a temperate rainforest environment – it feels cool and fresh,” says Tom. “You might not be able to achieve a temperature as low as 22-degrees on a 35-degree day, but evaporative cooling is certainly capable of creating cool, comfortable conditions.” Whilst refrigerated air conditioning is the most common approach, evaporative cooling should not be ignored, being a natural and more energy-efficient process. Evaporative cooling reduces the amount of energy required for cooling and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Not only is this better for our environment, but it’s more economical.

Our HCV systems cool environments naturally by adding moisture to the air offering an environmentally friendly solution.

Evaporative cooling is a core part of our Heating/Cooling/Ventilation (HCV) systems, which offer a single, integrated climate control solution. HCV systems are ideal for large, highly populated indoor environments in need of large volumes of fresh air. Our HCV units combine evaporative cooling with high-performance gas-fired heating and ventilation to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures and fresh, aerated spaces year-round. We also offer Evaporative Coolers as part of our Coolheat range for industrial and commercial cooling. These units are suitable for almost any application, from small workshops to large factories and shopping centres. They draw hot fresh air through saturated filter pads to cool the air. With air capacities ranging from 2,500–16,300LPS, they are efficient, versatile and reliable.

Celmist evaporative mist cooling pumps high-pressure pure filtered water through precise misting nozzles to reduce the surrounding air temperature.

Another evaporative cooling system, our Celmist Mist Cooling process was developed for indoor and outdoor environments. Celmist pumps high pressure pure filtered water through precise misting nozzles to reduce the ambient temperature by up to 9˚C as it evaporates into the air. The system is modular with a single pump, and it can accommodate numerous runs.

Celmist can be installed in a range of indoor and outdoor applications such as hospitality, commercial and industrial settings.

Celmist has a range of practical applications, It can be used to cool large factories and manufacturing plants, or it can be integrated with our Heatray weather controlled umbrella systems to provide cooling as well as comprehensive weather protection in commercial and hospitality settings. “The Umbrellas create shade, which protects people from absorbing the sun’s radiant heat and reduces the amount of energy required to cool the space,” says Tom. “Our Umbrellas are pivotal to helping Celmist perform efficiently. They work hand-in-hand.”

Celmist is ideal for providing balmy cool comfort in outdoor hospitality settings or maximising energy efficiency by pre-cooling commercial HVAC refrigeration systems.

Our Celmist evaporative mist cooling system has been designed to take the heat off by pre-cooling the refrigeration process and greatly improving the COP.

Celmist can also be used to pre-cool commercial HVAC refrigeration systems. “Evaporative cooling requires a lot less energy compared to refrigerated air conditioning,” says Tom Schilbach, Celmec’s Managing Director. “Refrigerated air conditioning can achieve lower and closely controlled temperatures, but when ambient temperatures are high, and the equipment is exposed to the sun’s heat, the Coefficient Of Performance suffers considerably. Our Celmist evaporative mist cooling system has been designed to take the heat off by pre-cooling the refrigeration process and greatly improving the COP. Evaporative cooling is a natural and intuitive way to reduce the consumption of energy and running costs.

With a range of evaporative cooling systems designed to suit to almost every need, Celmec is providing sustainable, reliable and affordable ways to regulate indoor and outdoor environments. “We don’t just provide our customers with heating and cooling solutions, we also help them conserve energy and save on operating costs into the future, which gives even more meaning to sustainability,” says Tom. “With Celmec, everyone’s a winner.”
